Privacy Screen Construction Details
Privacy screens catch a massive amount of wind, you’d be surprised by how effective they are. To ensure they remain standing straight and handle those heavy winds, we block and bolt the heavy support posts directly into the deck’s structural frame below the surface boards.
We build everything, from traditional vertical boards and framed lattice, to modern horizontal slats and adjustable louvered panels. We build these to match your existing deck material or create a contrasting accent wall.
Many municipalities will have specific bylaws regarding the maximum height of privacy screens on elevated decks (often capped around 6 feet from the deck surface). We know the local building codes across the GTA and Durham Region and ensure your build is compliant.
